July 4th, 2004

The past six year have been hectic. I'm always working so I can meet the expectations of creditors. They want their money and they want it on time. So after paying off most of the loans, it's time to celebrate the 4th of July. My freedom from high interest loans, late fees and the blood pressure raising monthly event of paying the credit cards. I'm not totaly loan free, far from it. I have a mortgage and a car payment. But this year the cards were paid.

I spent my 4th long holiday with my sister's family. I'm particularly fond of my neice. She's 3 and she's naughty and mischievous. Definitely a princess in training. This fruit didn't fall far from the tree. Princesshood is genetically inherited.

After a year of shooting a digital point and shoot, I reluctantly shoot with my Nikon F5. The king of the hill, flag ship of the Nikon line of film camera. It was fast focusing and the quick and quiet snap of the shutter indicates that this camera means business. Coupled with it is a Vivitar pro flash with a battery pack. Now we are talking, pro stuff pro results. We'll see. Unlike digital, the results have to wait untill I get the film developed.

Food was great. Boneless chicken marinated in Korean barbeque sauce. Heaven on earth as I was the one who grilled it. We have pasta with some sauce. I'm not a fan of Italian food so I can never remember the sauce. Filipino food is it for me.

We swam yesterday and today. I'm kinda tired. Swimming is a tiring activity. Last night we kicked back after dinner and watched the Calendar Girls. Nice chick flik. Sister enjoyed it and we watched it since midnight. We also saw the rest of the Last Samuria. We watched the first half during the afternoon as sister was called in for work. She was on call. It wasn't bad, she worked for 4 hours and made money usually wearned in 12 hour shift. Nursing is good if you can take it.

Neice was tired and will not take a nap as she wanted to hang out with the adults. Around 7 she laid her head on the dinner table and went to sleep. Her dad took pictures and she slept through all the flash shoots he made.

I took off before sundown. I have to pack for tomorrow's training. One week in a hotel. Courtesy of the company, not bad. Well until next time. By the way congrats to those who are about to tie the knot. You know who you are. Peace to all and life is good.
