Possessed.
I was transfering a patient to the step down unit when I heared stressed voices. 180 bed 2 is brady! What's the rate? Brady in the 40's! Call a code, call a code!!
After 20 mins of chest compressions and pushing drugs to the poor person's body, the doctor called the code over. The monitor shows a straight line and no blood pressure. I went back to my patient and recalled the transporter back to help move my patient.
There is activity back in the code room. I went to the monitor tech/unit secretary and asked her what is going on. She said the patient went back to life. What???? Yup. Sure enough, the "dead" is back. The heart apparently restarted it self and the patient started gasping for breath. It was not a normal breathing, it was agonal. The vent was re attached and turned on.
How weird, I've never seen such a thing in my nursing career. I'm learning a lot working days. I hope it doesn't happen to me.
