20th Anniversary of the Challenger disaster.
It's been twenty years. I can still remember when an Air Force cadet came rushing into my Aerodynamics class. She approached our professor for permission to make a public announcement. Tearyfully and almost sobbing, she announced that the Space Shuttle Challenger was lost a few minutes after launch. She thanked the professor and took of running. I felt a lump in my throat and thinking, "I'm screwed" After a few months, the Air Force cancelled the order for 5 space shuttles. Now I'm really screwed.
Here's a nice website about the 20th anniversary of the disaster.
