Seminoles slaughter Baby bears for dinner 44-27.

It was no surprise. The come from behind win was what classics are made of. Unfortunately for a PAC-10 team, they lost. It just makes the Pac-10 look bad. It brings the diapered bruins back down to earth. God forbid their egos got too big from their win over the mighty Trojans. The Gerber eating bruins should get used to where they are, the bottom of the Pac-10 heap. Where the garbage are tossed from the top where the Glorious Trojans will remain for the rest of the decade and decades to come. Bwahahahaha. See you later bruin losers. The Trojan blade will be sharper next fall, enjoy your lazy hibernation with the bitter taste of defeat.

2007, ready or not here it comes.

There goes another year. I'm keeping the next year as simple as I can. No more complicated job assignments and "hard work" nursing. An LVN at work was telling us about several openings in a psych facility that is "easy money". Patients are admitted at their will and no 4140 crap where patients are held due to mental meltdown.

I love to be in critical care if..., I'm tired of the conditions to make my life happy. I have a job now that is bearable. I pray everyday that my day be reasonable. The Almighty has been listening.

We have an injured marine at the facility. He was blown away be an IED (improvised exploding device) most likely triggered by a cell phone. His frontal lobe was injured. His parents' are taking care of him and they are stressed out. It's been a year since the injury and the "crap" keeps pouring in. Legal battles. Long term stay in Ca means moving their things to storage.

I talked to the mother and she is happy that her son is in Casa. I'm glad. Her son is starting to whisper words. He never did when he was in VA (veteran's administration hospital) where he gets inconsistent treatments.

The government never took take of the wounded soldiers. From vietnam to present day wounded, the VA rarely meets the needs of the injured. Private organizations picks up the slack when the govt fails to deliver. Most of the vets are also unemployed/unemployable due to their disabilities.

I also need to get my photography and health care product business going. I enjoy taking pictures, specially of people. Helping people promote their health through vitamins and weight loss products is also up in the list of to do things. 2006 is over, the year of recuperation from 10 years of hard nursing work. 2007 will be my transition year out of nursing or the start of the transition year(s). I will not stress my self by giving such strict deadlines but there will be goals set for my objectives.

1. Do self promotion on my days off. Making businesses part of work. Reduce free photography sessions and increase income opportunities. Push health products to interested parties.

2. Enjoy new interests: bowling, guitar playing, Bible study.

3. Start investing again by purchasing invesments.

4. Get better control of my condition. Work on normalized body functions but exercising and losing weight. Cut down on meat intake and increase "live" food products fresh vegetables and fruits.

5. Promote positive relationships.

Five goals for now, that's a good start.

New UCLA record!

UCLA broke a new record. The largest computer breach of an American university. Just another proof of the incompetence in the public education system. The attack lasted a year before they detected and blocked it. A freaking year before it was detected? Somebody was snoozing, LOL.

Christmas Party.

The Casa Colina holiday party was a success. I attended my first Holiday party in 8 years. I had to buy a new jacket and tie at a local Nordstrom. It was a nice black jacket that looks like velvet from a distance but its a real fine corduroy. I went and checked if Macy's have the jacket on sale but the one they have is not as soft and supple as the Nordstrom's jacket. The price was of course twice as much. I have to treat myself this holiday, I deserve it.

The party was held at the Pomona Fairplex and catered by the Hilton. A local band played, they look familiar as I've seen them at the parks during auto shows and City events. They sound good, mostly oldies music. The food was great. Buffet of course. Everyone at work looks great. We're all dressed up and ready to party.

The gifts range from tickets to the Long Beach Aquarium to trips to the Bahamas and Hawaii. Our retiring unit secretary won the big award to Hawaii and $7,000 in cash, car rental, and other stuff. She won the same prize two years ago. People was saying the prize winners looks staged as the CEO have stories about each winners. How did he know these people? No one knows. I personally know that the CNAs who did win are the hardest working ones of the bunch. Management is not included in the drawings. I didn't win anything as I frequently ignore the CEO when he does his rounds. I'm not shaking his hands, his not running for mayor. One newly hired LVN won and we were wondering how he knew the guy from the registry. Weird. A lot of people were suspicious.

I stuffed myself as if I ate the food equivalent of my new wardrobe. LOL. Not really, but it's nice to have older clothes to wear like shoes and shirt. I BTW bought a new pair of pants too but it's on sale at Macy's.

Some pictures with other RN's at Casa.:

Casa also honored our fallen nurse, Sandra Salgado by bestowing on her posthumously the Frances Eleanor Smith award for dedicated service in Rehabilitation. A plaque and $3,000 were part of the award and another $22,ooo was raised to help support her parents who depends on her as bread winner of the family. The west wing's nursing station will also be dedicated after her. It was a touching moment with her picture up on the screens and a standing ovation to acknowledge her accomplishments.

USC vs. Michigan in the Rose Bowl.

It will be a classic PAC-10 vs BIG 10 championship. The game I wanted to see. Michigan is a powerhouse and they lost by a small margin against the No. 1 team in the nation. I think USC will prevail and destroy the Wolverines' jaws and paws.

The USC freshman team will setup the 2007 season with a game at the Rose Bowl. Not too shabby. USC is still THE football team in Los Angeles. Yes there was a setback but this decade will remain Cardinal and Gold. The team of the new millennium. The envy of all football program in the country.

Good luck to the UCLA team to their trip to SF. The Emerald Bowl, a bowl game full of tradition and prestige......................................... NOOOT! LOL. Let's see, $14 M vs. $750K worth in winnings. Do the math.

My Montero Sport turned 9 years old.

One of the best looking SUV back in 1998. My Montero Sport was born in Japan, Nov. 1997. It has 80,000+ miles. I drove it from NC to CA. It has been to Yellowstone and back with no major problem. Okay I baby my ride but it was one of the best purchases I've made since graduating from nursing school. Resale value was poor but I'm not selling it. I even bought new wheels for it 4 years ago. The new wheels gives it a fresh look. Traded the old Yokohamas for Michellins.

I can remember the time after I bought it, I was driving high and I can see almost everything on the road. Months after the purchase, driving it still gives me the smiles.

Most SUVs today pretty much copied what Mitsubishi did with the Montero Sport. Talking about original, Jeep released a "new" SUV with copied parts from the Montero Sport. Rediculous! I guess they are going retro.

USC is going to the Rose Bowl.

Personally I'd rather see them in the Rose Bowl than the National Championship. Ohio State will eat them alive. The score will be 65-3. UCLA played their hearts off and they deserve to win. It was the saddest USC game I've seen for a long time. The Trojans looks like limp condoms against a defense that looks like a damn metal chastity belt. LOL.

This is a good loss for the freshman team. It's a reality check that they are not supermen and are not bullet proof. Here's to the Bruins.
